Weights are a guide, not a rule. Chewing style matters more than the number on the scales.
Go up. A larger chew is harder to swallow and lasts longer — a small chew in a big mouth is the situation worth avoiding.
Entirely down to the dog. Gentle chewers get weeks out of one; determined jaws get days of solid work. Either way it outlasts the stick from the park.
Once it has worn down small enough to fit in the back of their mouth, retire it. Supervise chewing the same way you would with any chew.
Yes — the small size is made for them, once their adult teeth are coming through. Very young puppies still on baby teeth are better off with something softer for now. If you’re unsure, check with your vet.
